Launching the Rainbow Legal Aid in Cambodia Report

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Phnom Penh, 12 March 2019 On Tuesday 12th March 2019, Destination Justice is hosting a Rainbow Legal Aid Report Launch at National University of Management in Phnom Penh. Rainbow Legal Aid is part of Destination Justice’s Rainbow Justice Project. Its objective is to foster dialogue in Southeast Asia, in particular in Cambodia, on sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, and sexual characteristics (SOGIESC), and to provide advocacy tools to changemakers for the promotion and protection of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ) community’s rights. Justice Matters Conference 2017 advocates for better legal aid and information

Phnom Penh – On 17 July 2017, on World Day for International Justice, celebrating the adoption of the Rome Statute, Destination Justice and the Ministry of Justice organised the Justice Matters Conference at the Cambodiana Hotel in Phnom Penh. The Conference’s objective was to empower policymakers, practitioners, academics and anyone interested in improving the Cambodian justice system by developing and facilitating tools and collaborations. Of the 114 people who attended the Conference, 75% thought the objectives of the Conference were met.
